Kenwood Unveils 2008 eXcelon Indash Receivers
Kenwood USA Corporation is introducing new eXcelon in-dash CD receivers that continue the tradition of advanced audio technologies and high value. All models incorporate USB Direct Control for high-speed control of iPod or mass storage devices, 1-wire direct connection to iPods, and auxiliary inputs. Step-up audio features include 24-bit DACs for the best possible digital audio processing and high-voltage preamp outputs for better signal-to-noise performance.
The flagship KDC-X991 offers a customizable OEL display and all-digital platform for the ultimate in high-end audio. Features include System Q-EX, 3 gold-plated RCA pre-outs (5V @ 80 ohm) with HPF & LPF, DSP, 4-Band parametric EQ (front & rear), and 512MB internal storage. Songs can be ripped from regular CDs to WMA format, and the KDC-X991 can copy USB data to its built-in flash memory.

The KDC-X792 has a high-resolution customizable display and both models include RDS technology and Kenwood’s exclusive Graphic Motion Analyzer.
Receivers in the eXcelon line also include the KDC-X692, KDC-X592, and KDC-X492. All sport eXcelon exclusive features like special audio-grade capacitors on the power supply that provide stable current and reduce unwanted engine noise. Interactive Illumination Effect is included on the KDC-X592 and higher and offers a pleasing blue glow that illuminates the controls when pressed or turned and dims after five seconds.
All models incorporate USB Direct Control for high-speed control of iPod or mass storage devices, 1-wire direct connection to iPods, and auxiliary inputs.
All units have a high gloss black finish, and the KDC-X592 and higher offer either 3 or 4-line displays. Kenwood’s Multi-Control Wheel allows for easy control of multiple iPod functions, and the KDC-X492 features an illuminated front-panel USB and auxiliary input with sliding door.
Each model is ready to add Satellite Radio and HD Radio as well as Kenwood’s KCA-BT200 Bluetooth hands-free unit with music streaming, text messaging, and voice recognition dialing.
