New Studio on Wheels by Bose Now In The 2014 Infiniti Q50 Sedan
Today, Bose announces the new Studio on Wheels by Bose available in the all-new, completely redesigned 2014 Infiniti Q50. The new Studio on Wheels by Bose includes next-generation Bose audio technologies, including 14 high-performance speakers, and the company’s first application of Bose Advanced Staging Technology –- delivering a front-row concert experience for front-seat passengers.
The Q50 is also equipped with Bose Active Sound Management technology for reducing unwanted noise in the vehicle cabin and helping Infiniti maintain desirable engine sounds.

Infiniti Q50 Sound System
Infiniti Q50 sound system from Bose consists of 14 high-performance speakers and system electronics unit:
- Three 3.25-inch [80mm] Twiddler® mid/high-range speakers, one in the center and one in each corner of the instrument panel.
- Two 1-inch [25mm] Tweeters, one near each side mirror.
- Two 3.25-inch [80mm] Twiddler mid/high-range speakers, one in each front door.
- Two 10-inch [255mm] Nd® woofers, one in each front door.
- Two 5.25-inch [l30mm] wide-range speakers, one in each rear door.
- Two 3.25-inch [80mm] Twiddler mid/high-range speakers, one on each side of the rear deck.
- One 10-inch [255mm] Nd woofer mounted on the rear deck.
- A Bose® digital amplifier with Bose digital signal processing mounted under the rear deck.
New Bose Advanced Staging Technology (AST)
Bose AST directs music to the ideal locations in the cabin –- vocals in the center and instruments to the right and left — similar to how a live band is positioned on stage. Using a customized speaker configuration designed exclusively for the Q50, Bose engineers placed five 3.25-inch mid/high-range Twiddlers across the forward cabin. Combining this layout with proprietary digital signal processing and custom equalization, AST ensures a wider sounding, more precise audio environment.
The new Studio on Wheels by Bose includes next-generation Bose audio technologies, including 14 high-performance speakers, and the company’s first application of Bose Advanced Staging Technology –- delivering a front-row concert experience for front-seat passengers.
Six additional speakers are integrated for mid- and high-range frequencies, including two 1-inch tweeters, one near each side mirror; two 5.25-inch wide-range speakers, one in each rear door; and two additional 3.25-inch Twiddlers on each side of the rear deck. Multiple bass sources, including two 10-inch Bose Nd woofers — one in each front door — provide smooth, low-frequency sound. Another 10-inch Nd woofer, mounted on the rear deck, adds musical depth and impact.
Next-Generation Bose Centerpoint 2.0 And Audiopilot 2.0
The Studio on Wheels system also includes two enhanced Bose technologies: Centerpoint 2.0 and AudioPilot 2.0. Bose Centerpoint 2.0 surround technology uses a proprietary Bose algorithm to analyze the stereo signal and convert it into multiple channels. All listeners enjoy an immersive surround-sound experience from almost any stereo source, including CDs, digital music files and satellite radio. Bose AudioPilot 2.0 noise compensation technology preserves the audio experience, even as background sound levels change. A strategically placed microphone in the vehicle cabin continuously monitors ambient noise conditions, while a sophisticated Bose algorithm analyzes the music signal and adjusts it to reduce the effect. AudioPilot technology operates automatically, enabling drivers to focus more on what’s coming down the road and less on audio controls.
Bose Active Sound Management
The Q50 is equipped with Bose Active Sound Management to help control the way the vehicle’s engine and powertrain sound inside the cabin. Using proprietary technologies in conjunction with the audio system’s speakers and amplifier, the Bose Active Sound Management system reduces unwanted powertrain noise in the Q50 while also enhancing desirable engine sounds. This creates a quieter cabin with a smooth, consistent engine note. Active Sound Management operates continuously, whether the audio system is on or off.
The Studio on Wheels for the Q50 is the latest Bose collaboration with Infiniti, a relationship that began in 1989. Bose sound systems are available across the full Infiniti portfolio, including the current G, M, EX, FX, JX and QX models.
