New Budget Head Units CDE-143BT, CDE-141 And UTE-42BT From Alpine
Three new entry priced 1-DIN head units are being shown by Alpine at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), taking place Jan. 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The head units deliver easy access to music through Alpine’s renowned sound quality, all at attractive price points.
Alpine offers three head units addressing the demand for budget-friendly products that playback music from popular storage formats. The new models are the CDE-143BT Advanced Bluetooth® CD Receiver, the CDE-141 CD Receiver and the UTE-42BT Advanced Bluetooth Digital Media Receiver. All three head units have the following features:
- USB port and aux input jack – every head unit has a USB port and aux jack on the faceplate, for easy connection to music stored on phones or memory devices.
- App Mode – this feature allows for basic control of iPhone® apps through the Alpine head unit. Applicable metadata information from the app is displayed on the head unit screen.
- Power Pack Ready – all head units are compatible with Alpine’s KTP-445A Head Unit Power Pack (sold separately). This tiny amplifier can boost the power of each head unit up to 45 watts RMS x 4, for a noticeable sound quality improvement.

In addition to these features, the CDE-143BT and UTE-42BT have advanced BT Plus Bluetooth® wireless technology with audio streaming. Users can play music stored on a smartphone and benefit from Alpine’s exclusive Digital Sound Processing (DSP) expansion which improves the sound quality of streaming audio. Both models come with a separate microphone that can be mounted for the driver’s convenience (such as on the visor), for improved sound quality during phone calls.
