Alpine Electronics’ New Sirius XM Satellite Radio Connectivity
Alpine is the first consumer products manufacturer to offer head units that are compatible with the new SXV100 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit (includes SXV100 Tuner and SiriusXM Antenna). SXV100 provides seamless in-vehicle integration of SiriusXM in a compact, inexpensive and easy-to-install package that does not require any special interfaces or cables. This new module complements three new Alpine products, thereby creating solutions for the Audio/Video/Navigation (AVN) system and 1-DIN head unit formats. For the first time, Alpine will offer an all-in-one head unit/tuner bundle, model CDE-124SXM consisting of an Alpine 1-DIN in-dash headunit and the SXV100 with antenna that comes with everything a consumer needs to upgrade their car stereo and receive more than 135 channels of programming from SiriusXM.

Alpine CDE-124SXM
“Alpine is excited to be the first to connect its head units with the SXV100,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine “The SXV100’s advanced features and small footprint, combined with Alpine’s sound quality and ease-of-use, gives consumers the opportunity to enjoy SiriusXM and the broad and diverse programming they can only find on satellite radio.”
The SXV100 measures just 3.5 inches x 2 inches x.75 inches. By adding the SXV100 tuner box to a compatible Alpine head unit or by purchasing the CDE-124SXM Alpine bundle, consumers can enjoy commercial-free music, premier sports, news, talk entertainment, traffic and weather information (separate subscription required). The SXV100 universal tuner box increases the number of SiriusXM features previously available for these types of tuners, all of which are fully controlled through the Alpine head unit. These features include:
- iTunes® Tagging to save song information for later purchase through the iTunes store
- SiriusXM Replay™ allowing pause, rewind and replay of up to 30 minutes of live SiriusXM content
- Song Alert™ and Artist Alert™ for notification when a favorite song or artist is playing on any channel
- Game Alert™ for notification when favorite teams from the NFL, NBA, NHL or college league are playing live
