Alpine Electronics Introduces New Type-S Series Speakers

One of the best ways to make music sound great in the car is to upgrade the speakers. Type-S Series Speakers

The new Type-S speakers are a great-looking and great-sounding upgrade, yet are still budget-friendly. They offer versatility in several different aspects. With seven models in the Type-S line-up, users are sure to find a speaker size that fits their car’s stock speaker location. The new cosmetics look good in nearly any car and their shallow mounting design allows for easy installation in a wide range of door panels. As well, their high-efficiency design can run off of the power from the factory or Alpine head unit, resulting in an easy system improvement for any vehicle. The seven new Type-S speakers consist of one 6.5-inch component 2-way set; one 6x9-inch coaxial 3-way set; and five coaxial 2-way sets in the sizes of 6.5-inch, 5x7-inch, 5.25-inch, 4x6-inch and 4-inch.

Type-R Series Speakers

The Type-R speakers offer loud, high-performance Alpine sound with superior linearity, efficiency, clarity and bass response. The six Type-R speakers consist of 6.5-inch and 5.25-inch component 2-way sets, and four coaxial 2-way sets in the 6.5-inch, 5.25-inch, 6x9-inch and 5x7-inch sizes. Features include a reduced woofer magnet depth for easier installation, upgraded metal mesh grill design and swivel-mounted 25mm ring tweeter. The component sets come with an external crossover network design that has a six-level tweeter adjustment which allows for precise tuning, while the hidden screw terminal gives a sleek appearance.

Type-X Series Speakers

Type-X speakers are engineered to provide a dynamic and detailed musical experience in the car. This high-end line offers highly accurate, precise in-vehicle sound reproduction. The Type-X speakers can be tuned to sound outstanding in any vehicle with the adjustable crossover settings.

The Type-X Series boasts two categories: Type-X Pro and Type-X Reference. The Pro speakers, the SPX-13PRO and SPX-17PRO, feature a hybrid cross-rib glass fiber woofer cone with Neodymium magnet and aluminum phase plug for flawless sound reproduction. Experience smooth, silky highs with precise imaging and staging capabilities from the 1.25-inch swivel-mounted ring radiator tweeter. The crossover network for the SPX-13PRO and SPX-17PRO offers an easy-to-use phase link system that allows the user to compensate for various woofer/tweeter mounting configurations with six different plug-in modules. The SPX-17PRO is a CES Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Award winner in the In-Vehicle Accessories category.

The Reference speakers, the SPX-13REF and SPX-17REF, combine premium sound with an easy-to-install design. The lightweight cross-rib aluminum woofer cone can be combined with the 19-mm ring dome tweeter to create a coaxial conversion with the included tweeter bridge.
