Jvc Mobile Entertainment Presents New In-dash Navigation With Detachable Faceplate And Touch Screen

JVC Mobile Entertainment has added the 7-inch, double-din KD-NX7000 Navigation/DVD/CD Receiver to its sleek new 2008 line-up. The double-din navigation unit's faceplate is detachable for maximum anti-theft benefit, and features a 7-inch low-reflection touch screen monitor. Also included for 2008 is a proximity sensor in the faceplate which illuminates control keys when your hand approaches, eliminating unnecessary button distractions during navigation, DVD and movie playback. Also new is the receiver's built-in memory data storage that provides quick start-up, fast search, and maintains the ability to use various multimedia sources and navigate simultaneously.

The 7-inch low-reflection screen delivers a superior DVD viewing experience, and is loaded with the latest in-vehicle enhanced connectivity. The KD-NX7000 is equipped for readiness with Bluetooth, rear-view camera, CD changer, HD radio and Satellite radio, is MP3, WMA, WAV, DivX, JPEG, MPEG-format compatible with USB port and SD memory card slot.

iPod enthusiasts will enjoy the extensive split-screen display of searchable options, menus, and song categories, while artist lists are easily searchable simultaneously via a touch-slider menu during song play. The USB for iPod audio connection is controlled by a plug-and-play USB 2.0 port for high-speed control during menu-surfing and between songs. USB 2.0 for iPod also charges iPod audio and video and displays the album jacket artwork on-screen. The USB for iPod video connection is made available via a KS-U20 adapter cable which will be available in March with an MSRP of $49.95.

The KD-NX7000 offers headphone surround sound for Dolby Digital 5.1 content, MOSFET 50W x 4, 7-Band iEQ, 5V line/subwoofer output level, high-pass filter, and gold-plated AV input and output terminals. MSRP and shipping dates are to be announced.

JVC Mobile's KD-NX5000 HDD Navigation/DVD/CD Receiver, launched in 2007, is returning in the company's product line-up in 2008.

As the Official Navigation Sponsor of the 2007 Bullrun Rally, JVC Mobile put the sleek, single-DIN KD-NX5000 to the test during the rally. The navigation receiver features a 3.5-inch-wide display, built-in 40 GB hard drive with the ability to store up to 24 GB of music, 13 million points of interest, built-in RDS-TMC tuner, and is Bluetooth and Satellite radio ready.

CNET Editors gave the KD-NX5000 a spectacular 9 out of 10 rating, with reviewers stating that the unit "combines a usable, traffic data-equipped navigation system with a plethora of audio and video capabilities in a compact package. JVC KD-NX5000 offers about as many car tech features per square foot as you can get."
