JVC Updates DRVN Lineup With New Amps, Subwoofers And Speakers For 2013

JVC unveils the next phase of its acclaimed DRVN Series “pronounced /’drivən/” with the new “DRVN” series of entry-level speakers, amplifiers, and subwoofers. These products join the existing “DRVN XX” series of step-up amplifiers and speakers which provide users an option of seven amplifiers and fourteen different speaker options in the entire line; including both coaxial and component applications.

This cohesive line of audio reproduction products celebrates its third year with more powerful cosmetic designs and captivating high-quality sound across a wide range.

DRVN SPEAKERS

JVC Mobile will introduce for 2013 an updated lineup of DRVN entry level coaxial and component speaker options including five new coaxial selections plus two continuing custom fit sizes and a component system package. Woofer drive cones feature Carbon Mica combined with a hybrid surround comprised of cloth and rubber for enhanced longevity and light, quick playback response. Carbon Mica cones use a thin yet hard profile to increase response accuracy. Using this combination of materials, SPL response has increased throughout the entire frequency range versus previous models. Speaker grilles include a tri-way design, which balances the midrange output to fill the vehicle uniformly. They also feature a Poly-Ether Imide cone midrange, tweeter, and super tweeters while both woofer and midrange or tweeter drivers feature strontium ferrite magnets.

The CS-VS608 is a 6.5-inch 2-way component speaker set with 300-watt peak power handling and 60-watt RMS power handling. It features a separate PEI tweeter, multiple mounting bracket options and an in-line crossover network box. The set will be available in January at a Best Value of $109.95.

The CS-V6948 is a 6-inch by 9-inch 4-way coaxial speaker with 400-watt peak power handling and 60-watt RMS power handling, and will be available in January at a Best Value of $89.95.

The CS-V6938 is a 6-inch by 9-inch 3-way coaxial speaker with 400-watt peak power handling and 60-watt RMS power handling, and will be available in January at a Best Value of $79.95.

The CS-V628 is a 6.5-inch 2-way coaxial speaker with 250-watt peak power handling and 40-watt RMS power handling, and will be available in January at a Best Value of $59.95.

The CS-V528 is a 5.25-inch 2-way coaxial speaker with 220-watt peak power handling and 27-watt RMS power handling, and will be available in January at a Best Value of $59.95.

The CS-V428 is a 4-inch 2-way coaxial speaker with 200-watt peak power handling and 20-watt RMS power handling, and will be available in January at a Best Value of $59.95.

The CS-V6948 is a 6-inch by 9-inch 4-way coaxial speaker with 400-watt peak power handling and 60-watt RMS power handling, and will be available in January at a Best Value of $89.95.

The 6-inch by 8-inch and 4-inch by 6-inch custom-fit coaxial speakers continue into 2013 from the previous DRVN lineup. The CS-V6837 coaxial speaker features 250-watt peak power handling and 30-watt RMS peak handling plus a PEI midrange cone and tweeter. It is currently available at a Best Value of $99.95. The CS-V4627 coaxial speaker features 140-watt peak power and 20-watt RMS power. It is currently available at a Best Value of $79.95.

DRVN AMPLIFIERS

JVC’s new lineup of DRVN amplifiers are 10 percent more compact than previous models, and has been broadened with a 5-channel version for this year. Cosmetic appeal has been enhanced with a sleeker shell with red DRVN badging on the chassis of each amplifier. MOS-FET Output stages provide better sound quality while dissipating less heat than traditional output circuits, while powerful internal capacitors boost deep, low frequency sounds. Models KS-AX3205D and KS-AX3201D include variable bass boost control and subsonic filter, plus all models have improved crossover gain slope.

The KS-AX3205D is a 5-Channel class D power amplifier with 1000-watt maximum power. It features 50W x 4 RMS power output plus a 200-watt RMS subwoofer output at 4-ohms, or 130-watt RMS x 2 channels bridged plus a subwoofer output of 200-watt at 4-ohms. It is available in February at a Best Value of $319.95.

The KS-AX3201D is a Mono Class D amplifier with 800-watt maximum power. It features 250-watt max RMS output at 4-ohms and 400-watt max output at 2-ohms. It will be available in February at a Best Value of $199.95.

JVC’s 4-Channel KS-AX3204 produces 800-watt maximum power and 60-watt RMS power per channel at 4-ohms, 180-watt RMS x 2 channels bridged at 4-ohms, features High-Pass and Low-pass Filters, and will be available in February at a Best Value of $169.95.

The KS-AX3202 is a 2-Channel Power Amplifier which produces 400-watt maximum power and 65-watt RMS x 2 channels at 4-ohms, or 180-watt bridged at 4-ohms, features High-Pass and Low-pass filters, and will be available in February at a Best Value of $119.95.

DRVN SUBWOOFERS

The 2013 line of DRVN subwoofers has two 12-inch subwoofer versions including one single voice coil and one dual voice coil offering. Each woofer features a 3D structure and Olefin diagram, which aids in higher power handling and less distortion. Also included is an aggressive design gasket, a long stroke, vented pole yoke for better heat dissipation, and large strontium motor magnet. Each subwoofer is optimally suited for smaller space saving enclosures ranging from.75 cubic feet to 1.5 cubic feet.

The CS-GD1210 is a dual voice coil 12-inch subwoofer with 1400-watt peak power handling and 400-watt RMS power handling featuring a 62 ounce strontium ferrite magnet, butyl rubber surround for additional cone movement and control, and silver-plated 8AWG ready terminals. It will be shipping in April with a Best Value of $139.95. The CS-G1210 single voice coil 12-inch subwoofer features 1200-watt peak power handling with 250-watt RMS power handling. It also features a heat-resistant gasket, a 39 ounce strontium ferrite magnet, and will be shipping in April at a Best Value of $99.95.

DRVN XX SPEAKERS

JVC Mobile Entertainment’s DRVN XX speaker series includes four continuing models, showcasing Aramid Carbon Mica 3D Cone Woofers, which have been enlarged with a molded ridge design for increased strength, less distortion, and precise amplitude. In addition, there’s a 3D grille-matching design tailored for both maximum in-car performance and a sleek aesthetic look. Woofer drivers also use a rubber surround, and enhanced middle range sound with quicker response, increased power handling, and extended low frequency response. All DRVN XX coaxial drivers feature Poly-Ether Imide super-tweeters (4-way Models), tweeters, and midranges, plus strontium ferrite magnets for the midrange and woofers.

DRVN XX AMPLIFIERS

JVC will continue the DRVN XX line of amplifiers in 2013, featuring easier installation, plus upgrade and control with the brand’s patented dynamic audio delivery circuitry. All terminals are mounted a single side of the chassis with end covers so mounting holes concealed with a clean installation look. Parallel drive MOS-FET Power Supplies increase efficiency allowing the new amplifiers to carry up to an extra 20 percent of current from single MOS-FET designs.

The KS-AX5101D mono power amplifier produces 300-watt RMS power at 4-ohms, 1000-watt maximum power, features a variable and low pass filter, includes a pass-through pre-output terminal, and carries a Best-Value of $219.95. The KS-AX5102 2-Channel amplifier produces 100-watt RMS power per channel at 4-ohms, 300-watt RMS bridged at 4-ohms, features variable High-Pass and Low-pass Filters, and carries a Best Value of $169.95.
