JVC KW-NT3HDT Navigation/Multimedia Receiver Review
JVC introduced another innovation in the 12-volt industry with the 2010 release of the KW-NT3HDT. This flagship model features the best of JVC in-dash technology, as well as some of the latest features available on the market for navigation units. The main features of the JVC NT3HDT are the Total Traffic+ HD Network navigation, complete iPod/iPhone integration, and user customization features.
Total Traffic+ HD Network
The JVC KW-NT3HDT is the first GPS navigation car stereo to feature Total Traffic+ HD Network. Real-time updates are sent to the receiver free of charge and without the addition of a separate module. Some examples of the free data that can be accessed are real-time traffic conditions, traffic updates, headline news, weather conditions, sports scores, and more. The Total Traffic+ HD is made possible with an integrated HD tuner. This also means that the user is able to receive HD radio signals for free. The navigation itself is based off of the NAVTEQ map database and uses infoUSA for points-of-interest. The combining of the HD network, NAVTEQ, and infoUSA make this unit a powerful and reliable navigation device.

Complete iPod/iPhone Integration
Full iPod control is made possible with a front USB 2.0 port. The high-speed USB connection allows the iPod interface on the car stereo to be extremely fast. In addition, users will also be able to watch videos that they have stored on the connected iPod. When connected, the 2-way control will allow the user to control the iPod from the stereos interface or from the iPod itself. JVC has made the NT3HDT to Apples standards and it is certified for iPod and iPhone compatibility.
User Customization
Most JVC stereos will feature a high level of customization and this unit is no exception to that. It features the variable color illumination technology that allows the button colors to be adjusted to over 30,000 different colors. This mean that no matter what make and model of car the KW-NT3HDT is installed into, it will be able to perfectly match the OEM colors and make for a more seamless installation. The separate color illumination allows different colors to be selected for the buttons and the screen. Custom start-up messages are also available. This means that the driver can program a message for the unit to audibly say each time the unit is powered on.
These features alone make the car stereo a popular choice for those that want it all. Other features include a LED backlit display, built-in Bluetooth, SD Card slot, detailed 7-band iEQ setting, and other expandable add-on features.
