Alpine Expands Subwoofer Lineup With BASSLINE Subwoofers

Alpine is debuting new subwoofers at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Jan. 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The new SWA "BASSLINE" series subwoofers are budget-friendly, deliver powerful bass, yet are still designed to Alpine’s exacting quality and reliability standards.

Alpine collaborated with the popular hip-hop group Far East Movement on the design of the SWA BASSLINE subwoofers. Far East Movement is known for their fun-loving, high-energy songs with driving, deep bass undertones. Far East Movement worked with Alpine engineers to provide input on the qualities they preferred for the SWA subwoofers. They named the SWA series “BASSLINE” paying homage to the power and infectious energy that bass brings to music.

Bassline Subwoofers And Collaboration With Far East Movement

The two new SWA models are the SWA-12S4 12-inch single 4-ohm subwoofer and the SWA-10S4 10-inch single 4-ohm subwoofer. Each subwoofer is capable of handling 250W RMS/750W peak performance power. The SWA subwoofers are a great complement to Alpine’s new V-Power amplifiers. When used together, they create a strong yet affordable sound system with incredible bass and power. The BASSLINE subwoofers and V-Power amplifiers can even be added to any OEM head unit, creating a great boost to the factory sound system.

The BASSLINE subwoofers join the following series to make up Alpine’s 2013 subwoofer lineup.

Type-X Subwoofers

Type-X subwoofers are designed for true audio enthusiasts. With a powerful motor, H.A.M.R. surround, and Kevlar parabolic cone with Rohacell core, these elements work together to produce incredible output.

Type-R Subwoofers

These high-performing and durable subwoofers provide class-leading output and sound quality, using Alpine’s exclusive patented technology that reduces distortion and maximizes musical detail. Their H.A.M.R. surround and powerful CRC motor structure designs provide well over 2 ½-inches of peak-to-peak excursion and up to 20 mm linear Xmax for incredibly deep and clean bass.

Type-S Subwoofers

The popular Type-S subwoofers have 500W RMS power handling and a full feature set to produce class-leading output and sound quality. They can withstand extreme use even in vented enclosures. They use an optimized suspension design allowing for nearly 2 ½-inches of peak-to-peak cone travel, providing high output and tight, accurate bass.
