New Sony WX-GT90BT CD Receiver Uses Smartphone As Remote

Sony today expanded its in-car entertainment line with the introduction of a new double-DIN CD-receiver, WX-GT90BT, featuring Sony-exclusive App remote technology, combining consumers’ car audio music assets and smartphone apps into a single source list that can be controlled from the car audio system or compatible smartphone.

The new WX-GT90BT CD-receiver is used with Sony’s App Remote app for USB-connected iPhones and Bluetooth connected Android phones. Once downloaded to the compatible smartphones, the apps turns connected smartphones into touchscreen remotes and consumers can launch their favorite smartphone app on the App Remote user interface…

Sony today announced its first marine CD receivers that are able to connect directly to compatible iPod®, iPhone™ or other digital music players via a USB connection.

The marine head units (models CDX-H910UI and CDX-M60UI) support new features including MemoryBackup and ZAPPIN™ technology. These features make it easier for boaters to control and find their favorite music on the water.

Sony Revs Up “Xplod” Line With New Car Stereos

Sony is expanding its mobile audio lineup with eight new Xplod® in-dash CD receivers. Designed to support the growing demand for iPod® and Bluetooth® compatibility, these head units provide a broad range of in-car connectivity.

“We’re offering elegantly designed products with innovative solutions for enjoying music on the road,” said Mike Kahn, director of marketing in the Audio Product Division at Sony. “Whatever your audio needs may be, we’ve got them covered.”
