U.S. Market Version of Eclipse AVN726EE Awarded Best Of Innovations 2009 In Its Category

Eclipse announced today the AVN726EE, its latest addition to the popular line of AV Navigation products. This new product is the latest realization of the company’s AV Navigation concept which revolves around the three core points of a perfect fit, comfort + awareness and integrated technology, in order to promote driving safety and comfort. Since 2005, ECLIPSE has been selling the AV Navigation on the European market. The AVN726EE is a dedicated version for the European market of the award-winning AVN726E which was named Best of Innovations 2009 in its category by the Consumer Electronics Association in U.S.A.. It was also chosen for the Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Award by the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, U.S.A in January 2009. CES is a one of the biggest Consumer Electronics Shows in the world. Organizer is the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).

The AVN726EE is a next-generation AV Navigation model that features all digital video circuitry and a 7.0” WQVGA high-contrast. It also includes a high-visibility TFT display with day and night view modes which can be linked to the headlights for automatic activation. Navigational displays as well as multi-format audiovisual applications are now seen with improved definition without any analog deterioration such as noise and smearing. The advanced digital image processing automatically adjusts outlining, color-depth and contrasts to make images more vivid.

Navigation

The AVN726EE is the first AV Navigation product with map and navigation database pre-installed in its built-in 2GB flash memory, making this product the first “memory navigation” unit achieving faster performance. Advanced 3-D city map, text to speech, and street name/lane guidance is capable and offers easy to understand navigation. Updating maps is easy by using an SD card for which the AVN726EE includes an SD card slot.

Entertainment

The AVN726EE plays DVDs, DivX®, CDs including CD-R/RW and has an USB port for connecting devices so that MP3 and WMA files can be played as well. An iPod can be connected directly for audio and video playback. The iPod cable is sold separatly. Rear seat DVD entertainment capability is also included. The AVN726EE breaks new ground as it is the only integrated navigation, audio and visual entertainment product offering six preamp channel outputs at a high 5V output for high fidelity audio expansion options. To match the unit’s improved video performance, improved sound quality and lowered distortion was achieved using premium parts in crucial circuit locations.

Convenience

Bluetooth® wireless technology with included microphone is built-in for hands-free convenience and offers audio streaming as well. Depending on the brand of the car factory steering wheel control is possible. The AVN726EE has rear view camera capability. ECLIPSE’s proven ESN anti-theft measure is incorporated. The unit’s control button illumination can be switched from blue to red as preferred. RDS-TMC tuner is built-in and offers traffic information.

The AVN726EE is scheduled to go on sale from the end of April 2009. Suggested MSRP is not available at this time.
