Alpine Introduces New X-Power Amplifier Line
Harnessing the technology found in their benchmark-setting PDX digital amplifiers, Alpine introduces the new X-Power family of amplifiers. The four new amplifiers provide digital amplifier technology at a lower price point. Alpine offers a complete lineup of amplifiers, totaling twelve models plus one add-on power pack.

Alpine MRX-M100
X-Power Digital Amplifiers
The X-Power amplifiers consist of the MRX-M50 mono, MRX-M100 mono, MRX-F30 4-channel and MRX-V60 4-channel plus mono models. The MRX-V60 won a CES Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Award for the In-Vehicle Audio category. The X-Power amplifiers use Global Modulation digital technology based on Alpine’s PDX architecture, so they share many of the attributes that make the PDX amplifiers so popular. For the first time, the X-Power amplifiers bring these advanced digital technologies to price-friendly levels. Features common in the X-Power and PDX amplifiers include:
The X-Power amplifiers use Global Modulation digital technology based on Alpine’s PDX architecture, so they share many of the attributes that make the PDX amplifiers so popular.
- Small size, high efficiency – The X-Power amplifiers have a small footprint with 80% total efficiency
- Clean output – The X-Power amplifiers offer the best performance in their class with wide bandwidth (5Hz – 45KHz), excellent signal-to-noise (greater than 87db for full range models, 90dB for mono models, at 1 watt), very low distortion (less than <0.04% THD+N for mono models, <0.07% THD+N for full range models, at rated power) and extremely high damping factor (>1000 for mono models, >500 for full range models)
- Sound quality – X-Power amplifiers use Global Modulation Technology with Adaptive Feedback Control, whereas PDX amplifiers use Global Modulation Technology with discrete Active Error Correction.
- Power management processor – The X-Power amplifiers incorporate an internal monitoring system that optimizes power output, to keep the music playing even under extreme heat and load conditions.
- Installation flexibility – Their small size and versatile controls allow the X-Power amplifiers to work with aftermarket or OEM systems.
Flexibility is one of the best benefits of the X-Power amplifiers. Not only are they small and easy to add to any system, they integrate well with a variety of setups. The X-Power amplifiers have a 4-channel speaker input connection, for easy integration into an OEM system via speaker-level input. They also turn on and off automatically when voltage is detected on their speaker-level inputs, further simplifying connection to an OEM system. Specific to the MRX-M100 and MRX-M50 mono models are their ability to drive 1-ohm loads at reduced power for increased flexibility when needed. The MRX-V60 4-channel plus mono amplifier has an input select switch that makes 5-channel output possible even with only a 2- or 4-channel input.
The MRX-M100, MRX-M50 and MRX-V60 are remote bass knob capable, allowing consumers to adjust subwoofer level without having to access the amplifier itself (uses RUX-KNOB, sold separately). These three models use a variable 5-30Hz subsonic filter to optimize power or improve subwoofer reliability in ported enclosures. As well, they have a bass EQ that allows a boost at 50Hz, making them ideal for adding punch to subwoofers in sealed or ported enclosures.
